What is INMO?
The Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) is the third and decisive stage of India's Mathematical Olympiad pathway, conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE). It's where India's future IMO team members are first identified.
Only students who've cleared both IOQM and RMO reach this stage. INMO is longer, harder, and even more rigorously proof-based than RMO — everything before it is qualification; everything after it is refinement toward India's final IMO squad.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have qualified RMO with a nonzero score — this alone isn't sufficient, rank matters
- Category A (Classes 8–11): Top 30 per region qualify, plus 5 additional girls' quota
- Category B (Class 12): Top 6 per region qualify
- Must meet HBCSE's age criterion (notified date-of-birth cutoff each cycle)
- Must be an Indian citizen, OCI, or enrolled in an Indian school
